SERVICES GUIDE
Below is the bottom-line breakdown regarding the services I offer and the process involved regarding said services. I strictly follow an Ethical Code of Conduct, meaning, I will never under any circumstances open, copy, clone or breach confidentiality. Not all IT professionals abide by this.
CONSULTATION
The initial step is always the consultation. This step is standard and simple. I need to determine the nature of issue you are experiencing. We decide on a date/time upon receiving a call from you. Thereafter depending on the nature of the fault one of the following methods will be used to perform an initial diagnosis of the problem.
  • REMOTE DESKTOP DIAGNOSIS
    This is perhaps the most cost effective method, easiest and least time consuming method. To do a diagnosis remotely you will need a remote desktop client. There are several remote desktop tools available but I make use of AnyDesk due to ease of use for both you and myself. The time it takes to determine what should be done next ranges from 15 minutes to 30 minutes since it depends on both the quality of the connection and also the nature of the fault. If remote access is not possible then one of the following methods negotiated.
  • OFF PREMISES DIAGNOSIS
    This would mean you would bring your device(s) experiencing the problem to my location. This method is usually preferred if the above is not possible mainly because I have the 'workshop' which means I have what is needed to resolve the problem(s) you are experiencing. (Pretoria area only). This would be similar when you take your equipment to a computer shop.
  • ON PREMISES DIAGNOSIS
    This is the inverse of the above. You may have a setup which makes it difficult to make use of the above method. So, essentially this means I would visit your location. This would add an additional cost to you.If the distance is 15km or less the cost would R250. Any additional cost would be R5.50 p/km up to a maximum of 35km. So for example if you are 23km from my location then that would be R250 + (R5.50 x 8km) = R 294.00. (Pretoria area only). [see note 1 below]
Consultation fee is R 450 including VAT but excluding ON PREMISES travel costs. A diagnostic report will be provided as part of the consultation fee. This report will contain the findings/cause, recommendations and solutions. I do not simply provide information verbally. This report is provided upon either the payment of the consultation fee or should you wish to proceed in resolving the problem the report will be provided with the quotation insofar as how much it will cost to resolve the problem.

AA rates are used as a baseline for calculations including duratation/time. Maximum and minimum distances are only valid in terms of OFF PREMISES consultations. Remote consultations do not have any other fees accept the CONSULTATION COST

HARDWARE
Hardware problems relate to anything from your computer not booting up to overheating to problems relating to devices connected to your system. Hardware problems can often times be software related and software problems can often times be hardware related

Internet problems will be problems such as those relating connectivity and using tools as mentioned below that is not working or giving problems. It is rather an extensive list of issues that be result of infections, software, hardware and much more, below are some key areas

CYBERSECURITY
Cyber security in part relates to internet, software and hardware. It differs however since here I will look for compromized systems, infected devices and ensure users have the required protection to fortify and defend against cyber threats.

Cyber threats are not limited to you mobile devices, laptops and desktop computers. Cyber threats for the most part goes unnoticed by the end user and even if you think you are not infected chances are that you are infected. Sometimes when your computer runs significantly slower than usual, constant popups and higher then usual CPU usage are some of the signs that you are infected. Noticing a sudden lack of disk space, getting a call from someone accusing you for sending a message you did not are some of the signs you are infected. However, if you have spyware such as a keylogger on your computer than everything you (such as online banking) is recorded. For this reason you MUST from time to time get your devices analyzed for malware. A great deal of information on this website is dedicated to cyber security. This is mostly not an active service but passive. This is not something you want to leave to chance.
